Greetings, and welcome to the third installment of Discharges.org. To fully elaborate on this update I feel the need to comment on the previous two versions of the site. The first version of Discharges was intended solely to be a minimalistic housing for these silly little flash loops that I had created, as well as a forum for the idiocy of my intended audience, which took the form of a simple comment script on the left side. Sprinkled throughout this layout were little Easter eggs and secrets to be found for those who had a keen eye, some blind luck, or obsessive compulsive disorder. The secret pages of the first incarnation have long been discovered and are documented on the wiki.
The second version of Discharges was a little different. Instead of being predominately text based, it was almost all images, but retained a minimalist structure. I wanted to create a portal where the visitor didn't quite know what they were getting themselves into when they clicked on a particular icon, which would lead to a greater surprise when the loop, or whatever, loaded. Of course, the loops and their corresponding linking icons have been memorized as well as documented in the wiki, and all of the content was presented in a straightforward manner with no secret areas to be found. The idea was to make the navigation confusing enough that secret areas would be moot.
This, the third version, is a culmination of the previous two. Minimalistic, insomuch as my sense of design will allow, but also very complex. As the title of this version implies, everything is based on a bit of luck. All of the original content is still accessible through the three main tabs, but you will notice that which tab loads upon start is random. Taking this idea a bit further, there exist sets of icons that are not accessible through the main tabs and which contain all new "content." However, the chance of finding this content is completely random, and on top of that, it will take an observant eye to distinguish anomalies and then, and only then, access the hidden icon sets and loops.
I have no doubt that the hidden loops will eventually be discovered and documented on the wiki, as their file locations aren't random (I'm not that cruel), only the means to access them. So don't fret too much, as all the content will be revealed eventually, but for the time being, the hunt is on. Since the odds of randomly getting the icon set which grants access is fairly high, and the odds of the person who stumbles upon it actually recognizing the anomaly is even higher, and the odds of the person who recognizes the anomaly solving the puzzle is even greater, I'll give you a hint: Treasure that is not randomly attained is worthless. Have fun.
P.S. The random secret content will not be put into place until November 2, so don't even bother searching for it on the launch day.
